Gideon Boakye was said to have taken advantage of a woman who was a bit intoxicated and inflicted cutlass wounds on her in order to take away her bag and other valuables at Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South Municipality.
He pleaded not guilty but was convicted by the court after the prosecution was able to prove its case.

He said on Easter Monday, this year, the complainant together with her friends went out to a party she became intoxicated with alcohol when they were returning home.
Inspector Acheampong said when the convict saw that the complainant was high on alcohol he decided to follow her after she parted company with her friends on her way home.
