Kwahu Pepease citizens donates to health centre

Kwahu Pepease (E/R), June 5, GNA – Some natives of Kwahu Pepease in the Eastern Region led by Mr Frederick Osafo Ntim, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FON Group of Companies, have donated essential hygiene products and five desktop computers to the Pepease Health Centre to help improve health care delivery to the inhabitants of the area.

The other donors are Mr Kofi Peprah, the CEO of Western World Company Limited, Mr Emmanuel Ofori Asante, CEO of Andy ‘D’ Company Limited in Accra and Dr Newton Appah, owner of Appah Farms at Pepease.

The items worth over Gh¢25,000.00 included veronica buckets, tissue papers, paper towels, gallons of detergents and liquid soaps.

At a brief ceremony to hand over the items to the community, Mr Ntim who represented the group explained that the gesture was an effort of the group to give back to society and to ensure development of the community.

He said the group decided to support the health facility because it lacked a lot of items which would enable it to offer the best of health care in this era of coronavirus.

Mr Ntim announced that the group are supporting the facility to also secure an isolation centre to serve the community in case they record a positive covid-19 case.

He said the group appreciates the initiative government had taken to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus in the country, hence their support.

He said the group has decided to offer more support to health facilities in the Kwahu area to help avoid the spread of the disease to the area.

Mr Ntim urged the management of the facility to adopt a maintenance culture.

Receiving the items on behalf of the facility, Mr Victor Kwaku Asamoah, Assembly Member for the Pepease Electoral Area, thanked the group for the donation and called on other natives to emulate their example.

The group in a related development also donated 200 bags of rice, 200 crates of eggs and a cash of GhC 5,340.00 to be shared among 178 households in the Pepease town in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region to support the inhabitants especially older people.
