Sulley Muntari’s wife donates PPE to Agona Asafo Community

Asafo, May 06, GNA – Mrs Menaye Donkor Muntari, wife of International Football Star Sulley Muntari has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Agona Asafo chiefs for onward distribution to their Health Centre, Zongo Community, and others to fight COVID-19.

The PPE are Veronica buckets, sanitary pads, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, face masks, paper towels, waste buckets, mini buckets, and gallons of liquid soap.

Menaye Donkor-Muntari who is the Nkosuohemaa of Agona Asafo under the stool name, Nana Afrakoma I, also presented an undisclosed amount of money to Queenmothers of Agona Asafo.

Mr Michael Kurako-Boadi, Operations Manager of Mrs Donkor-Muntari’s office made the presentation on her behalf.

In a message, she asked the citizens of Agona Asafo and the entire nation not to ignore health protocols underlined by the President and the Ghana Health Service.

“It is only when we follow the laid down procedures that we will curb the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The Nkosuohemaa said as a traditional ruler of Asafo, it was prudent to assist in the fight against the dreadful virus which had slowed social and economic activities worldwide.

She expressed the hope that the chiefs would distribute them equitably for the benefit of all.

Nana Kwao Ponsi II, Adontenhene of Agona Asafo who received the items on behalf of the chiefs, expressed appreciation to the Nkosuohemaa for the kind gesture.

He said that the items had arrived at the right time as the majority of his people could not afford the nose masks to protect themselves.

Nana Ponsi praised Mrs Donkor-Muntari for the numerous assistance offered to Queenmothers, widows, and orphans in the area since she was installed the Nkosuohemaa of Asafo.

He hoped she would continue to offer assistance to the people to help improve their living standards.
