Commodity Monitor and DDP companies give free billboard ads on COVID-19

Ho, April 16, GNA – Two Ghanaian companies, DDP Outdoor Advertising and Commodity Monitor Limited have provided free billboard advertisements on COVID-19 to the fight the pandemic.

A press release copied to the Ghana News Agency said the Companies had sponsored over 30 billboards in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi as well as digital media at the Kotoka International Airport and Kumasi Airport worth about GH¢ 750,000.00

The initiative is to increase publicity and create awareness on the best protocols on hygiene that will assist in curbing the spread of the virus.

Mr Norbert Rufu, Chief Executive Officer of DDP Outdoor Limited said, “the government and public health authorities were taking the necessary actions to contain COVID19 spread”.

He said supports in increasing awareness through billboard and digital advertisement was therefore critical to curtail the spread of the virus and to win this fight.

“Every organisation and every individual has a part to play in curbing the spread. It is important to protect ourselves and others. We need to follow the directives from the authorities on personal hygiene and social distancing,” Mr Rufu said.

The release said an early win against the virus was vital to set the economy on the right path to recovery and growth, requiring complementary efforts from all actors in the country.

Madam Martha Amoako, Director of Commodity Monitor Limited, said that education was important to winning the fight against COVID-19.

“These billboard advertisements are meant to disseminate information and expand knowledge on best practices needed to contain the virus, including regular handwashing and social distancing,” she indicated.
