Nkoranza, (Bono East), Dec. 11, GNA – Mr Ali Adams, the Nkoranza South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the jubilant party supporters to remain calm for the nation to go through a peaceful leadership transition on January 7, 2025.
He explained that despite the overwhelming victory of the NDC in the General Election, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) by law was to remain leaders in the realms of national affairs until the transition was over and the new government was officially sworn in.
“The NPP still deserves some respect and dignity,” Mr Adams stated when interacting with the media at Nkoranza in the Bono East Region.
He advised the NDC supporters to celebrate their election victory in moderation. Mr Ali advised that “Our election victory celebration should be in a more peaceful manner, and we must try not to harm or infringe upon the rights of people,” and entreated the party supporters to avoid tendencies that could disturb the prevailing peace of the nation.
Mr Adams praised the chiefs and people of the Nkoranza Traditional Area for their role in ensuring the peaceful conduct and outcome of the elections.
He expressed the hope that the prevailing peace and social cohesion would be strengthened more and more for the purposes of development.
“The NDC government will remain humble, work hard and serve the nation in diligence for progressive and sustainable development,” he stated.
Mr Adams emphasised that the President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament-elect Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum required the absolute support of the people to bring the development of the area to the next level.
He urged the Party’s membership to ensure a formidable front and work together as one people for the prosperity of its constituencies and the nation by extension.
