Ghana’s Black Galaxies to play Togo in friendly ahead of crucial CHAN qualifier against Nigeria

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA – Ghana’s Black Galaxies will play their Togolese counterparts in a friendly encounter on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. 
 
The Black Galaxies, made up of home-based players, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, departed for Lome to continue preparations for their upcoming Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria. 
 
The Black Galaxies of Ghana would take on their Nigerian counterparts in a two-legged affair as they seek qualification for the next CHAN tournament. 
  
The first leg of the tie takes place on Sunday, December 20, in Ghana, before the return leg comes off on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in Nigeria. 
  
The winner of the two-legged tie would secure their spot in the CHAN 2024 tournament to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year. 
 
Ghana and Nigeria have a long-standing rivalry that is set to be rekindled in what is expected to be a thrilling two-legged affair. 
 
The Black Galaxies eliminated Nigeria to secure qualification to the last edition of the CHAN tournament in Algeria after a post-match penalty shootout following a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
