Accra, Nov 29, GNA-The Upper East Region came alive with electrifying energy as Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Afrafranto Alliance and the presidential candidate of the Movement for Change, stormed the region to continue his Caravan Campaign Tour.
The vibrant streets were filled with chants of “Asieho” and “Alan Cash” as enthusiastic supporters, including market women, youth, and elders, gathered to welcome the man they believe is destined to transform Ghana.
A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the atmosphere was electric as yellow T-shirts and aprons, symbolic of Alan’s campaign, became prized items, with supporters chasing them in excitement.
At the Zuarungu Palace, the chiefs expressed their unwavering support for Alan Kyerematen’s vision, calling for the revival of the defunct Bolgatanga Meat Factory and better management of the Pwalugu Tomato Processing Plant.
“We have seen your commitment to industrialization, and we know that under your leadership, our region will thrive with more factories. The people of Zuarungu stand firmly behind you,” they pledged.
Alan assured them that his Great Transformational Plan (GTP) includes strategic investments in local industries to create jobs and boost economic growth.
In Bongo, the chiefs rallied Alan to continue his fight for the presidency, affirming that “this time, the seat belongs to you.” The warm reception was a testament to the region’s belief in Alan’s ability to bring meaningful change.
Addressing the gathering, Alan reiterated his plans to integrate chiefs into national governance, promising that they would serve as co-trustees of natural resources and play a critical role in decision-making through the Second Chamber.
At the Tindana’s Palace in Bolga, the Tindana (Landlord) himself delivered an emphatic endorsement.
“You are the leader Ghana needs to make a difference,” he said, pledging the full support of his people.
The crowd roared in approval as Alan shared his vision to make the northern regions the food basket of Ghana.
“With investments in agriculture and agro-processing under the GTP, hardworking farmers here will not only feed the nation but also export to neighboring countries,” he assured them.
Alan’s charisma shone brightest in the bustling markets of Zuarungu, Bongo, and Bolga as Sellers, traders, and buyers abandoned their wares to mob him, shouting “Asieho” and vying for the yellow campaign merchandise.
Market women in particular hailed his promise to establish a Traders Bank to provide low-interest loans and financial support.
“This initiative will empower us to expand our businesses and support our families,” one trader exclaimed, echoing the sentiments of many.
In Bongo, Alan captivated the youth by unveiling his 10-point youth empowerment plan, which includes job creation, digital revolution, and skills development.
He pledged to ensure that every willing young person has access to employment or support to start a business. “Together, we will end the unemployment crisis and create a brighter future,” he declared to thunderous applause.
The highlight of the tour came as Alan visited the Bolga Central Market, where he was swarmed by jubilant supporters.
Women danced to campaign songs, waving handkerchiefs and their hands. The youth, energized by Alan’s message, vowed to rally their peers to vote massively for him in the 2024 elections.
As it came to light that the good people of Upper East Region also want the Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam to be built to provide year-round irrigation, energy, and water to boost incomes and improve social welfare, Alan pledged his unwavering commitment to its construction.
He assured the chiefs and residents that the dam would play a pivotal role in supporting his vision of making the northern part of Ghana the food basket of West Africa.
By the end of his visit, it was clear that Alan Kyerematen’s message of economic empowerment, inclusive governance, and transformational leadership had struck a chord with the people of the Upper East Region.
As he waved to the jubilant crowd in Bolgatanga, he left behind a promise of a brighter future, cementing his position as a formidable contender in the 2024 elections.
