MTN Ghana awards 52 MoMo merchants, agents in Northern Ghana

Tamale, Nov 29, GNA – MTN Ghana has awarded its merchants and agents in the five regions in the northern part of the country for their resilience and commitment to making the country a cashless society.  

A total of 52 merchants and agents in the five regions namely; Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East and Upper West, received the awards at the Mobile Money (MoMo) @15 stakeholders’ dinner and awards in Tamale. 

Sparkles Pub and Restaurant, Amdaway Oil Company Limited, Mahama Alidu, Adams Broni Enterprise Ltd and I No Go Sell Enterprise in the North East, Savannah, Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions in that order were the overall winners in the merchants’ category. 

They each received GHc15,000.00 as their prizes whilst other winners in the merchants’ category also received various amounts as their prizes. 

In the agents’ category, Torres Ventures, Go-Limit Enterprise, AG Multi Business, Abontula Enterprise and Awenboro Investments in the North East, Savannah, Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions in that order emerged overall winners and each of them received a motorbike each as their prizes. 

Other winners in the agents’ category also received various sums of money as their prizes. 

Mr Simon Amoh, Senior Manager, Regional Sales-North, MTN Ghana, speaking during the event, congratulated all the awardees for their various roles in accelerating the Fintech Industry in the country. 

He expressed delight at the impact MoMo had made on society helping to ensure ease of payment, and transactions. 

Mr Akwasi Kwarteng, MoMo Channel Development Manager-North, MTN Ghana, said the awards were also a recognition of the resilience and commitment of MoMo merchants and agents to making the country a cashless society. 

Mr Salifu Abdallah, Supervisor, Amdaway Oil Company Ltd, who took the award on behalf of the company, expressed joy at the recognition and gave the assurance that the company would continue to accept MoMo payments from its customers
