Tema, April 19, GNA- Mr Horace Nkansah, the Manager of the Tema South District Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has expressed the company’s appreciation to its stakeholders for their support of its operations.
The Tema South District of ECG covers Tema New Town, Bankuman, Manhean, parts of the industrial area, and communities one, two, three, four, five, and six.
Mr Nkansah said the company was satisfied with their cooperation through diverse ways in keeping the office informed on challenges with power supply within the district.
He expressed his appreciation at a stakeholders’ meeting in Tema Newtown, when he, along with some of the company’s officials, met with opinion leaders, including assembly members, to deliberate on issues of mutual benefit to them.
“We are grateful to all our stakeholders for the continued support of our work especially with regards to faults and outages affecting smaller areas or groups of customers,” he said.
He said the company was undertaking some system improvement works, such as a project at Acheampong Village, as part of measures to improve power supply to customers in the area.
The Assembly members also applauded the faults team of the district for their quick response to fault and outage issues and commended the management for meeting them on their peculiar issues.
They however raised concerns over meter acquisition and low voltage issues, which the ECG officials responded to and educated them on how to apply for meters directly from ECG.
The officials also called on them to report illegal connections to the company, as such actions contributed to situations of low voltage experienced by customers sometimes.
