Accra, May 24, GNA – Residents of Otodjor, a community near Dansoman, Accra, have been overwhelmed by floodwaters as rains pound Accra.
They have lost sleep since Saturday as they scoop, whip and drain their homes of the invading water and also count their losses.
The community is about 500 meters away from the SSNIT Flats.
When the Ghana News Agency visited the area, some residents were washing and cleaning their personal belongings, while others had hired the services of septic tank dislodgement groups to drain their homes now filled with floodwater.
Some residents had also taken refugee at the local Pentecost Church, Grace Congregation, to seek physical and spiritual refuge at the only place spared by the marauding floodwater.
