Bucharest, Feb 27, (dpa/GNA) – Romania has closed its airspace to Russian commercial aircraft because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Overflight and landing rights for aircraft belonging to companies based in Russia will be suspended, a government spokesman said late on Saturday.
Flights linked to humanitarian aid or emergencies will be exempt.
Several EU countries, including Poland, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, have already closed their airspace to Russian aircraft. Germany is preparing to do so also.
