Accra, Nov 03, GNA – Ghana on November 9-12, will host this year’s CYBERX Africa and awards conference in Accra.
The four-day event, organised by CSDS in partnership with the Security Governance Initiative (SGI) under the Ministry of National Security, the Association of Private Investigators, Ghana and Lex Mundus and Cencla is aimed at identifying the requisite enhanced cybersecurity to protect networks, information technology systems of critical information infrastructure, industrial control systems to ensure a safer cyber space.
A statement signed and issued on behalf of Major General Francis Adu-Gyamfi, National Security Coordinator by Mr Osei Bonsu Dickson, SGI Coordinator and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the existence of a secure and trusted national cyberspace was a key enabler for Africa’s growth and prosperity.
It said the event would, therefore, feature cybersecurity, cyber law and cybercrime workshops, cyber awards and cyber conferences (CyCons).
It said this year’s event which coincides with SGI’s Week 2021 (8th Nov – 13th Nov,2021) would focus on issues in cyber law, mobile and digital forensic investigations and international cooperation in aid of effective investigation and prosecution of cyber and terrestrial crime in ECOWAS.
Event participants, the statement noted were the Liberia Cyber Crime Prevention and Mitigation Agency, the Bank of Ghana, the Computer Forensic Institute, Nigeria, the Judicial Service of Ghana, Lex Mundus and Cencla (International Law Firm) and other Law Firms.
Others included the Association of Private Investigators, Fidelity Bank, Ministry of National Security, the Cyber Security Authority, Ghana Shippers Authority, Ghana Armed Forces, Economic and Organized Crime Bureau, Cal Bank, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Free Zones Board and Access Bank.
The keynote speech, it said, would be delivered by Justice Prof. Nii Ashie Kotei, Justice of the Supreme Court.
The SGI Secretariat is a national security programme office that focuses on cyber, maritime and border security governance and strategy.
