Akatsi (VR), April 30, GNA – The Akatsi South Municipal Assembly has earmarked several priority projects for execution and completion in the 2026 fiscal year to improve infrastructure and service delivery across the Municipality.
Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the projects, currently under tender, were aimed at strengthening education, enhancing market access, improving staff accommodation, and expanding critical public services.
He announced this in a Sessional Address at the First Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Assembly held at Municipal Assembly Hall.
Mr Dagba said key projects included the completion of a two-storey six-unit classroom block at Dagbamatey and a two-unit semi-detached bungalow at Akatsi.
He said the Assembly would also construct a lorry parking space at Accra Station in Akatsi and rehabilitate 10 market sheds at the Akatsi Main Market to improve trading activities.
Other interventions include the renovation of the Agriculture Department, the Magistrate Bungalow, and the MCE’s official residence.
In the education sector, the Assembly is expected to re-roof a six-unit classroom block at Afatsableve, supply 250 hexagonal desks and 1,000 dual desks to basic schools, and complete a six-unit classroom block with a six-seater toilet facility at Lume Avete.
The MCE said additional health infrastructure projects include the construction of a three-unit nurses’ accommodation and a medical laboratory at Atidzive to enhance healthcare delivery.
He said the Assembly would also undertake the construction of a 60-compartment market shed and a 24-hour economy market at the Akatsi Central Market to boost local commerce.


Mr Dagba said a six-unit classroom block would also be constructed at Anyiheme to expand access to education.
He noted that the projects would be funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), the MPs Common Fund (MPCF), the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF), and other reserved funds.
Mr Dagba reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to equitable development and improved service delivery across all communities in the Municipality.
