Takoradi residents express confidence in the 2025 Budget

Takoradi, March 12, GNA – Some residents in Takoradi, in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region, have expressed optimism and confidence in the 2025 Budget.

According to them, the budget outlined bold, realistic and achievable steps in resetting the economy and alleviating the financial burdens on the citizenry.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Godly Appiah, an Electrician, said the budget outlined most of the current government’s campaign promises and hoped that all the proposed policies would be implemented for economic growth.

He noted that the scrapping of some nuisance taxes like the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), Betting tax, and Emission tax among other would go a long way to ease Ghanaian off some financial burdens and spur economic growth.

Mr Richard Adams, a National Service Personnel, also shared the same sentiment and prayed that all relevant stakeholders would support the government in its quest to reset the country.

He noted that the uncapping of the GETFUND was a step in the right direction and added that it would go a long way to improve upon the educational system in the country.

Mr Adams also expressed satisfaction in the amount allocated for the Big-Push project, saying it would help complete all abandoned infrastructural projects, while creating more job opportunities for the teeming youth in the country.

He also appealed to the government to expedite processes to implement the 24-Hour Economy policy to help boost productivity and create jobs for the youth.
