Accra, Dec. 13, GNA – Little Angels Trust, a charitable organisation, has adopted and commissioned the refurbishment of the newborn baby ward for nursing mothers at the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
The refurbishment included the repainting by the NGO and the furnishing by its partner, Furnart Ghana Limited.
The organisation also donated assorted items, including water, clothing, and soft drinks, to the Hospital.
With the adoption of the ward, it means Little Angels Trust would take full responsibility for keeping the ward in good condition and also ensure the beautification of the edifice at all times.
The NGO will be working hand-in-hand with the management of the hospital to achieve their set goals in this regard.
Dame Lavina Enim, Founder and Chair of Trustees, Little Angels Trust, said the gesture was part of the 20th anniversary of the organisation.
She said children were the future for the country, describing the event as a special and emotional journey in responding to the needs of the hospital for better healthcare.
The Founder said in September this year, the organisation embarked on an eight-mile “love walk” from the circle SSNIT branch to Korle-bu hospital to create awareness of childhood cancer in the country.
She said over the years, the organisation had been supporting Korle-Bu Hospital, Princess Marie Louise Hospital, Accra Psychiatric Hospital, and Mamobi Hospital.
She pledged to continue to serve society through her humanitarian services, especially with children, and called for support to achieve the agenda.
Dr Maame Yaa Adobea Nyarko, Medical Superintendent of Princess Marie Louise Hospital, appreciated the great transformation by the organisation.
The ward she said would energise the nursing mothers to rest well and pledged to take good care of the facilities.
