Denu (VR), Dec 11, GNA – The Africa Development Council (ADC), a not- for-profit organisation focused on promoting sustainable industrial development in Africa has congratulated Mr. John Dramani Mahama, the President-elect on his victory in the December 7 election.
The Council also expressed its readiness to render technical expertise in terms of industrial revolution to support Ghana’s development agenda, highlighting the significance of financing development through production rather than from taxes and levies.
The Dr Bright Atsu Sogbey-led ADC issued a statement by its Secretariat in Accra following the official declaration by Mrs. Jean Mensah, the Electoral Commissioner, of Mr. Mahama as winner of the 2024 presidential election.
It said the massive victory was an indication that Ghanaians had handed over the country to Mr. Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to reset, thus, the incoming administration must take decisive actions to transform the life of the people.
“The Council is ever ready to render technical supports in terms of industrial revolution, making it possible for the state-owned enterprises making profits, such that development is financed more from production, and less and less from taxes and levies.
The above is achievable through meritocratic appointments of personnel to various technical state institutions.”
The statement said the President-elect must ensure his government plays a significant role in guiding and driving industrial development as that would form the base to realising the NDC’s 24-Hour Economy policy, a comprehensive strategy aimed at transforming Ghana’s economy by boosting enterprise and labour productivity in key sectors to create jobs and address unemployment.
“State-led industrial economy, the foundation of actualisation of the 24-hour Economy Policy must be of paramount importance in the four years of your presidency.”
“Once again, congratulations,” it concluded.
