Police leadership engages media on security measures for December general election

Accra, Nov 23, GNA – The Ghana Police Service, led by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has outlined comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of journalists and the public during the upcoming December General Elections.

In a meeting held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Dr. Dampare engaged media practitioners to discuss strategies aimed at safeguarding press freedom while promoting responsible election coverage.

The IGP noted the critical role of journalists in fostering peaceful elections, urging them to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

He called on the media to avoid the dissemination of misinformation and disinformation, warning that such actions could undermine national stability.
