Accra, July 3, GNA- Oxford University Rugby League Football Club (OURLFC) have arrived in Ghana ahead of their summer tour in partnership with the Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG).
Ghana was chosen as the destination for the OURLFC’s summer tour because of the enviable growth and visibility of the Federation in the world of Rugby League.
The team would engage the federation in two international friendly gamely games on July 3 -11, 2022.
The Oxford University Rugby League would on July 3, 2022, face the RLFG President’s 13s side at the Mensah Sarbah Field, University of Ghana, before taking on the University of Ghana Rugby League team at the same venue on July 11, 2022.
OURLFC would also visit some selected schools as part of RLFG’s project to develop Rugby League and also create awareness in these schools.
The team would also undertake a peer coaching session with the University of Ghana Rugby League team to share their experience with the Rugby League community.
RLFG released 37 players ahead of the international friendlies of which nine players were selected from Ghana Skolars, Accra Majestics, Accra Panthers, African Warriors, Nungua Tigers, Bulls and Pirates.
