Ho Assemblies of God Church climaxes Men’s Ministry Week on Father’s Day

Ho, June 19, GNA- The Evangelical Central Chapel of the Assemblies of God Church, Ho, has chosen Father’s Day to climax the 2022 Men’s Ministry Week Celebration.

In what has become the first in the History of the Church, its celebration of the Father’s Day met with the coveted global celebration of the male parent.

The Men’s Ministry took over the officiation of the four-hour joint service of the Church, which was broadcast live on wireless networks.

Rev. Eric Seyram Anku, Snr. Associate Pastor of the Church, in a sermon, called on men to arise and take their respective places within the family unit.

“Most challenges in the home are because of the absence of the man figure”, he said, asking men to dedicate themselves to the Lord to be able to meet their responsibilities,” he said.

He asked them to endear themselves to meet responsibilities, both spiritual, material and financially.

“God has called us to live up to our responsibilities as a father, to have dominance, be in charge, and be in control. Do not just be a father figure but one who is at home and whose presence is felt,” Rev. Anku stated.

Women were also advised to be the helpers of men, and to encourage them for all they do.

The Men’s Ministry celebration which was on the theme “Oh Lord, revive Thy works”, spanned two weeks, and had seminars, debates, health walks, and evangelism as part of activities to mark the event.

There was also a free eye screening service.

A donation of assorted items was made to the Ho Lepers Village.

Rev, Godson Bodzah, Lead Pastor of the Church told the GNA that the men held the key to responsible parenthood, and that the Father’s Day Celebration was expected to help encourage men.

He said the church as part its social responsibilities, had been providing free water at its premises for the host community, and hopes to sustain the support.

Mr. Bernard Awuni, President of the Men’s Ministry, said the celebration had been memorable, and urged all within the Ministry to work hard to keep it active.

He said income generating ventures were being considered towards the establishment of a welfare structure for men and youth.
