Accra, Feb. 05, GNA – The Nilex Corp Company Limited, suppliers of oxygen concentrators, has donated 850 bags of cement valued at GH₵44,200 to the Five Infantry Battalion (5BN) at Burma Camp in support of an accommodation project for young soldiers.
The 5BN is seeking to construct 120 single room self-contain accommodation facility for young officers in support of the Government’s efforts at addressing the housing challenges confronting officers of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The project is expected to take- off by the end of this month at the headquarters of the 5NB at the Burma Camp.
Mr Nilesh More, Managing Director, Nilex Corp, and Mr Alex Osei-Owusu, the Company’s Legal Director, did the presentation.
Mr Osei-Owusu said the presentation formed part of the Company’s corporate social responsibility, adding that the Organisation recognised the significant role of the military in ensuring peace and security in the country.
“This is the start of our Company’s involvement in supporting the military to upgrade some of the facilities that you have. We recognise that the nation’s security and protection depend on you,” he said.
Mr Osei-Owusu said the Company would engage its partners and the business community to also support the project.
Lieutenant Colonel Prince Tandoh, Commanding Officer, Five Infantry Battalion, said the Unit would by the end of this month cut sod for the project to commence.
He expressed profound gratitude to the Nilex Corp for the assistance and said the Military High Command would continuously partner with the Company to make the project successful.
