MTN Ghana Foundation gives to nursing Mothers

Essikado(WR), Dec. 26, GNA- Nana Kobena Nketsia V, the Paramount Chief of Essikado traditional area, has called on society to support and respect women as givers of life.

He said, “Our visit to the ward today and looking at how this woman who has given birth to triplet is gasping for breath in her fragile state, indeed tell us the need to uphold womanhood as a people.”

The Paramount Chief said this during the distribution of hampers by MTN Ghana Foundation to nursing mothers in selected hospitals to mark boxing day in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

He, on the other hand, encouraged the nurses to continue the good work of care for their patients and entreated families and society, in general, to help in the proper upbringing of children.

“Children are the future…we must volunteer to help in their proper upbringing and holistic development,” he added.

Mr Prince Owusu Nyarko, Senior Manager for MTN South West Business, said the annual event had cost over 50,000 cedis since the Initiative began.

So far, all 16 Regions of Ghana are benefitting from the initiative.

He said the Foundation would uphold the donation as a contribution to support health care delivery in the country and relief to some parents as well.

The MTN staff visited Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and Essikado hospital, among others.
