Nyametease (W/R), Dec 5, GNA – Members of the Susanna Wesley Mission Auxiliary (SUWMA) of the Gaddiel Acquaah Methodist Cathedral at Tarkwa have donated assorted items to one of its branches in Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality.
The items include; 15 pews, curtains and flowers all at the cost of GH¢12,000.
Right Reverend Thomas Amponsah-Donkor, Diocesan Bishop of Tarkwa, was accompanied by some executives and members of the group to present the items to the SUWMA branch of the Methodist Church at Nyametease.
He stated that the organization has adopted this particular congregation for years and have been assisting them consistently.
“For us it is one of the things worthy of a nation because the Nyametease congregation does not fall directly under the Tarkwa circuit rather the Abontiakoon Circuit, but the group chose this congregation to offer them help. We think others should emulate this”.
He appealed to individuals, philanthropists and organizations to assist churches especially those in the rural communities, in need of furniture, place of worship, musical instruments and public address systems, stressed that any institution that is touched by the generosity of the group could contact them and offer such help to promote the work of God.
Receiving the items, Very Reverend Joseph Kingsley Danful, the Abontiakoon Circuit Minister, expressed appreciation to the group for the kindness.
He assured them that the items donated would be used for the purpose for which they were given.
